Both “ludibund” and “frolicsome” are fun. I especially like how “frolicsome” glides off the tongue. The central K sound brings a slight pause, as if reaching a resistance, and then the “some” slides right into to third base.
I wonder if you mean in the sportsman’s sense or in the lover’s sense…
